LUCIAN BLAGA GIMNÁZIUM BŐVÍTÉS

 A kolozsvári Lucian Blaga Általános Iskola és Gimnázium bővítésére kiírt nemzetközi nyílt tervpályázat célja a meglévő, két külön telken épült iskolaszárny XXI. század igényeinek megfelelő átalakítása, szaktantermekkel, tornatermekkel, könyvtárakkal, kantinokkal és kültéri sportpályákkal történő bővítése, meglévő tereinek, térkapcsolatainak újragondolása volt.

Kolozsvár város határán a 70-es években épült lakótelep igényeire létrejött alsó- és középfokú oktatási infrastruktúra két, egymással nem határos telken valósult meg több, mint 40 éve. Mindkettő monolit vasbeton pillérvázas, eredetileg lapostetős, 3 szintes középfolyosós, illetve 4 szintes oldalfolyosós szabadonálló szárnyak enyhén lejtős telken, ahol a tanulók létszámának növekedése, és az oktatási módszerek diferenciálódása a meglévő struktúra túlépítéséhez, beszűküléséhez vezetett.

Az átalakítások és a bővítések a tereplejtés kihasználásával, a kialakuló sportpályákkal, új közösségi használatú iskolaudvarok definiálásával valósulnak meg. Az észak felé eső telken lévő háromszintes általános iskolaépület emeletráépítésével lehetőség adódik a középfolyosós zárt és sötét térrendszer feloldására, belső terek átrendezésére, légterekkel történő oldására, amiben még egy a különböző szinteken lévő közösségi tereket összekötő csúszda is helyet kap a gyerekek számára.

A déli telken lévő gimnázium utca felé eső könyvtár bővítése, valamint emeleti oldalfolyosói mentén a szinteket összekötő új lépcsős tér segíti mind az oktatási terek átstrukturálását és felszabadítását, mind pedig a városrész lakóinak kötődését a megújuló oktatási intézményekhez.  - részlet a dicsérettel díjazott tervpályázat műleírásából

LUCIAN BLAGA SCHOOL EXPANSION

The open international competition targeting the expansion of the Lucian Blaga Elementary and High School in Cluj-Napoca called for designs that remodel the two school wings (located on two different sites) according to 21st century demands, by adding specialized classrooms, gymnasiums, libraries, cafeterias and external sports fields and redefining their existing spaces and spatial connections.

The primary and secondary schools were constructed on two non-adjacent sites on the outskirts of Cluj-Napoca over 40 years ago, to accommodate the demands of the local housing estates built in the 1970s. Both buildings are monolithic reinforced concrete pillar frame structures, originally with flat roofs. Located on a gently sloping site, the elementary school is a 3-story building with an internal corridor system, whereas the 4-story high school building has a side corridor structure. The increasing number of students and the differentiation in educational methods has led to overbuilding and constriction.

The new remodeling and expansion plan takes advantage of the sloping terrain, defining new sports fields and school yards that are open to the neighborhood community as well. Adding an additional floor to the 3-story elementary school building on the northern site provides an opportunity to open up its dark, internal spatial system, reorganize its interior structure, create multilevel spaces and even a slide that connects the community areas of the building.

Adding a new street-facing library on the southern site and creating a multi-level space that connects the stories of the side corridor structure grants us the possibility to restructure and open up the educational spaces of the high school and strengthen the bonds of neighborhood residents towards the renewed educational institutions. – excerpt from the project description of the honorable mention winning entry
